Carnival season is famous, and the city has a vast number of stores specializing in gorgeous costumes and art which can be rented by your party. Venice also has an excellent music conservatory, and costumed musicians may be hired for your reception or ball: quartets, violinists, flutists, or harpist.

Reception balls can be organized at an Italian Palazzo after weddings. Guests may arrive at the palace by gondola or motorboat, and torches can be lit along the canal guiding the guests as they arrive at the Palazzo. Inside, the lighting can be entirely candlelight.
